So, Jakarta. Hmm, where do I begin...
First, it's the capital city of Indonesia, and no, Indonesia is NOT part of Bali. Bali is a part of Indonesia. I've always hated to explain that to people, so let's just get it over with.
This is the map of Indonesia. I marked Jakarta with a pink dot, and Bali with a blue one.
The complicated city of Jakarta.
Bali, or as people call it, the paradise.
If you google Jakarta, then click Images, for sure, many images will pop. I never tried this before, but when I went looking for a picture of Jakarta to put in my blog, I found it interesting.
Interesting because of the many images that popped out, they couldn't be more distinct. While half of the pictures highlights the glam and the beauty of the city, such as the skyscrapers, malls, roads, and the night lights, the rest shows you pictures of garbages, civilizations by the river, and flood.
So which is the real Jakarta?
Both groups of pictures shows the reality of Jakarta. Tragic, I know.
Which is why I titled my blog Life in The City. Yes, I got the idea from Babe in The City, and I had put some thought into naming my blog that, with Babe being in reference to me (not as a pig, but that 'baby' babe), but I've never been a vain person, so I killed the idea.
Maybe Jakarta isn't as interesting as New York (which is maybe why there're the series 'Gossip Girl' and 'Sex in the City', not 'Cewek Gosip' and 'Seks di Kota') but living in Jakarta, you will find so many annoyingly-silly or fascinatingly-devastating situations all around that'll make you shake your head in amazement or disbelief. So I'm going to try share it with those 'unlucky' enough to be away from Jakarta, along with some 'me' stories (yeah, so maybe I am a little vain), so just bear with me.
Bisous,
Dila
